Note from Mod Atlass about delays on zine projects:Hello all. I wanted to give just an explanation of what has caused the various delays since our preorders began. I've been trying to do this for a long time, but end a crying mess any time I try (as I am now lol).DURING our preorders in 2024, I ended up having a sudden emergency surgery. I was unable to work on packing or my laptop for formatting, graphics, or anything else, for several months afterward due to recovery. This caused shipping from (now finished) zines like BIAZ and TSUKUYOMI to snowball together as well as delay their leftovers sales.Everything continued to snowball as I tried to catch up on work for shipping, formatting, production, and finances for zines. "let's start a RIOT"'s preorders shipped first in fall of 2024 through the late spring, taking a long time just due to sheer volume & still being piled in backlog.In early 2025, the creature who means the most to me in the entire world fell ill. My cat, Pachiri, was diagnosed with an intestinal cancer and we started her on treatment, but she took a lot of extra time and care both to try and get her to eat food, and just trying to spend all the time I could with my baby. She had a great remission throughout the summer while I finished RIOT shipping and leftovers, shipped Wintertide, and finished formatting for INGENIUM2 & Successor (Dadmight zine). However, she quickly declined again in August and after a rough week passed in my arms at home at the end of September.I tried to work to keep busy through the grief, but it just made to make things slower of course, though I managed to get INGENIUM2 out and start on EraserMic. But my other kitty, Xena, stopped eating as well. We tried to adjust his insulin and were waiting to see how he was doing on the new dose before determining if we needed to adjust further, but he started not eating again so we brought him into the ER. I was fully expecting to be told "all his bloodwork is fine just keep an eye on him" like all the times I brought him in before, but we were instead advised to put him to sleep. We ran bloodwork and found he was likely having pancreatic failure, so we made the hard decision to say goodbye. I held and kissed him as he left.This was just a couple week before Christmas, so between the holidays, not being over Pachiri, and having extra work at my job (as my boss was retiring at the end of 2025, so I was being trained in to take on some of his tasks in addition to my own), so understandably I had a Bad Time. I still managed to finish most of EMic shipping.January has always been a Dark Month for me, so I try to not have anything to do then, but I still tried to keep with shipping. Contributor packages still needed to go out for zines and I had EMic packages to finish, and DadMight shipping hadn't even been able to be started yet.Currently I'm almost finished packing Dadmight then I need to do the contributors, then run leftovers. I'm almost at a place where I can consider myself "caught up" and not cause anymore delays—however, I'm still 2x as busy at work, still deeply grieving both of my cats (and the loss of 2 close relatives in the same timeframe - one the Tuesday after Pachiri, and one at the end of April 2026), and fighting through health issues causing severe dizziness and pain.I understand all of the delays are EXTREMELY frustrating, and the silence unacceptable. I try my best to give updates when I can, but with the loss, work, and burnout, I am often just unable to bring myself to do so. I'm just one person. I'm embarrassed, ashamed, deeply anxious, and EXTREMELY sorry about all of the waiting and wondering the customers and contributors have gone through. I am trying, and I am struggling, but I will get through and all of your things will be in your grasp as soon as I am possibly able.Thank you for reading and sticking with our projects.
